Map and contact →Volume lashes, often called Russian volume, solve what classic lashes cannot — density. Instead of one extension, a light fan of several very fine lashes goes onto each natural lash. The lashes are so fine that a whole fan weighs about the same as a single classic extension, so it does not load the natural lash but it does close the gaps.
Depending on how many lashes go into a fan we talk about 3D up to 8D. The higher the number, the fuller and darker the result. Where the sensible limit lies for you depends on the density and strength of your own lashes, and we will tell you honestly.
When to choose volume over classic
- Your lashes are sparse or fine, or there are visible gaps between them.
- You want a bolder, “made-up” eye even without mascara.
- Classic lashes felt too subtle to you.
- Your lashes are fair — fans darken the lash line far better than single extensions.
On the other hand, if you want a set nobody can spot, stay with classic.
How the appointment goes
Volume takes longer than classic, because every fan is made with tweezers at the appointment itself. Allow a little over two hours. Otherwise the routine is the same: degreasing, securing the lower lashes, application, final check.
Making the fan is exactly where good work parts company with bad. The fan has to be open and it has to sit on one single natural lash. Natural lashes stuck together are the most common reason lashes come out weakened after volume — that is the work, not the method.
Retention and infills
As with classic, you come back for an infill after three to four weeks. Volume infills ask a little more of us, because we are balancing density across the whole eye rather than replacing individual lashes.
Looking after them at home
- No water, sauna or steam for 24 hours.
- No oil-based removers and no eyelash curlers.
- Brush them with a spoolie in the morning — with fans that matters twice as much.
- Do not pull at them, pick at them or take them off at home.

How do volume lashes differ from classic lashes?
With classic lashes, one extension is applied to one natural lash. With volume lashes, a delicate fan of several very thin fibres is applied to one natural lash. The result is therefore denser and darker, yet the fan weighs no more than a single classic lash.
What do 3D, 5D or 8D mean?
The number indicates how many fibres are in one fan. A higher number means a fuller and darker result. The reasonable limit for you will be determined by the density and strength of your natural lashes — excessive volume on weak lashes will not last and will weigh them down.
Are volume lashes gentler, or the opposite?
When applied correctly, they are very gentle on natural lashes because the fibres are extremely thin. The problem is never the method itself, but careless application — a fan bonded to two natural lashes will stick them together, and when one falls out, it pulls the other with it.
How often are volume lashes refilled?
Approximately every three to four weeks, depending on how quickly your natural lashes shed. For volume lashes, refills are a little more labour-intensive as the density across the entire eye needs to be restored.
Do volume lashes last longer than classic ones?
The longevity is similar because it depends on the natural lash cycle, not the method. However, volume lashes appear to thin out later — the loss of a single lash is less noticeable in a dense set.
