Tapes are the quickest way to add length and density. The hair comes ready on a thin adhesive strip which is bonded to your own hair — one tape underneath, one on top, your hair sandwiched between them. Fitting is therefore far faster than keratin or micro rings.

The tape is flat and sits close to the head, so it hides well even in finer hair. It is outstanding for adding density: a few tapes through the top sections make a real difference without changing your length at all.

When to choose tapes

  • You want a result quickly and cannot give up a whole day to fitting.
  • You are after density rather than dramatic length.
  • You want something that is comparatively easy to take out.
  • You want to try extensions before committing to keratin.

Tapes are less suited to high ponytails and buns — they are easier to spot in an updo than keratin bonds.

The price is per tape

The price in the price list is for one tape, not for a full head. How many you need depends on whether you are adding density or full length, and on how much hair you have. That is why we call you after you book, go through the scope, and tell you the final figure in advance.

Maintenance

Tapes are refitted roughly every six to eight weeks. The weft comes off, the hair is cleaned and re-taped — the hair itself can be reused several times, it only needs new tape.

Looking after them at home

  • Sulphate-free shampoo; conditioner and masks on the ends only, never on the tapes.
  • Oil and silicone serums loosen tape, so keep them away from the bonds.
  • Do not go to bed with wet hair; a loose plait for the night.
  • Detangle from the ends upwards with an extension brush.
  • Tell your hairdresser you are wearing tapes — colour goes on away from the bonds.

Taking them out

The tape is released with a bond remover and lifted off. Do not pull at it — the adhesive holds well, and without remover your own hair comes away with it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the price so low? Is this for the entire set of hair extensions?

The price is for one tape, not for the entire set of hair extensions. How many tapes you will need depends on whether it is for thickening or a full set of hair extensions, and on the density of your hair. After booking, we will contact you to discuss the scope and the final amount beforehand.

How often are tape-in hair extensions moved up?

Approximately every six to eight weeks. The strand is removed, the hair is cleaned, and a new tape is applied. The hair itself can be reused; only the tapes need to be reapplied.

Are the hair extensions tapes visible?

The tape is flat and lies close to the head, so it can be hidden even in finer hair. However, with high ponytails and updos, it can become visible sooner than a keratin bond — if you wear such hairstyles, you might want to consider keratin instead.

Tapes, keratin, or micro ring?

Tapes are the quickest and best for adding thickness. Keratin has the smallest bond and suits healthy hair. Micro rings do not use heat or glue, making them suitable for weakened hair. During a consultation, we will recommend the best option based on the condition of your hair.

Can I use a mask and oil on the tapes?

Yes, on the ends, but not on the bond area. Oil and silicone serums can loosen the adhesive, causing the tapes to last for a shorter period.
