Make-up for a ball is stronger than a daytime face, because it has to hold up under the lighting of a venue. Artificial light drains colour, and a soft look that is exactly right in daylight all but disappears in an evening hall.

So we go further on the eyes, build a flawless complexion, and above all set the make-up so that it survives dancing, heat and several hours in the room.

What is included

  • Skin prep and priming for your skin type and its condition.
  • A stronger eye — smoke, gradients or liner, whichever suits you and the dress.
  • Brows, blush, contour and highlight.
  • A lip balanced against the strength of the eye.
  • Setting in layers, so it lasts until the morning.

Allow around two hours.

Worth thinking about beforehand

  • The colour and neckline of the dress matter more than any trend. Bring a photograph.
  • Have lash extensions or a lash lift done a few days before the ball, not on the day.
  • Have your brows done a few days ahead too.
  • If you are having your hair done as well, book make-up after the hair, or agree the order with us — hair is harder to style over a finished face.

How to prepare

Come with clean skin and no make-up. Do not try a new scrub or cream in the days before the ball — skin can react, and the day of the event is a bad time to deal with it.

For touch-ups during the evening, use the lipstick we will pack for you.

Before you book

  • Your booking is confirmed automatically once you pay the 25% deposit or the full amount online.
  • You can move or cancel your appointment up to 72 hours in advance in your account. If something unexpected comes up, please get in touch.

Frequently asked questions

How does ball make-up differ from a daytime face?

It is stronger, because artificial light in a hall drains colour. A soft look that is exactly right in daylight all but disappears in an evening venue. Setting it firmly matters just as much, so that it survives dancing and heat.

How long does ball make-up last?

It is built for the whole evening and set in layers. For touch-ups during the night, take the lipstick we pack for you.

When should I have my lashes done before a ball?

A few days beforehand, not on the day. That goes for extensions and for a lash lift alike. Have your brows done a few days ahead too.

Should I have my hair done first, or my make-up?

Hair first is usually the more practical order, because hair is harder to handle over a finished face. If that is not possible, agree the order with us in advance.

What should I bring with me?

A photograph of the dress — its colour and neckline shape the choice of shades more than any trend. And come with clean skin, no make-up.
