About the course
An advanced make-up course for photography. It addresses what most beginner make-up artists only discover after their first photoshoot: the camera sees things differently than the human eye. Make-up that looks perfect in person can look flat in a photo, and certain products create white patches under a flash.
For students, this is a skill that comes in handy immediately — a make-up artist's portfolio is their main selling point, and without knowing photoshoot make-up, you will not get good results.
What students will know after the course
- Explain how the camera perceives shades, textures, and shine.
- Identify products that cause white patches under a flash and know what to replace them with.
- Prepare the base for photography — coverage and matte finish without losing the skin's natural life.
- Contour the face for the lens, which is different from face-to-face interaction.
- Work with both studio and natural light.
- Collaborate with the photographer and the model during the shoot.
- Touch up the make-up between shots.
- Know what post-production can fix and what must be resolved during the make-up application.

- Duration: 8 hours (theory and practice).
- Minimum number of participants: 10.

- Location: we travel to schools, but the course can also be held at our premises in Praha.

- Price: the school price is significantly lower than the standard course price of CZK 2,690. Invoicing to the school or the students.

What level do students need to start?
The basics of make-up. The course is about the technique of make-up for the camera, not about make-up in general — complete beginners are better starting with the introductory make-up artistry course.
Why does make-up look different in a photograph than in the room?
Because a camera reads shades, textures and shine differently from the eye. Some products turn into white patches under a flash; others flatten the skin until it looks lifeless.
Does the course cover working with the photographer?
Yes, including touching the face up between shots, and what retouching can fix afterwards versus what the make-up artist has to solve on the day.
